Another little adventure while staying at Gore Bay.
What was supposed to be a leisurely walk, turned into more of a
sheep path scramble.
The walk along the beach was very scrunchy with the shingle bank being quite high.
There was a storm in the area a couple of weeks back
and so the shingle was high , a scattering of logs
and the river had been blocked.
So at least we didn't have to wade thru any water.
looking back towards the settlement.
Found the sign
Then we headed off along the estuary
which had become very overgrown.
Then it was a scramble up the sheep track to the top.
Ta da. Made it :)
Only a few graves marked.
Disappearing
Took close-ups of all the graves, as genealogists may find it useful
Has been a long time since the track was cleared.
Its an interesting walk,
but Im afraid that Mother nature is reclaiming
what remains, quite quickly.
