On the way back from Timaru, took time to explore the Shopping area of Temuka. It was Sunday and again we almost had the place to ourselves. The shops were mostly shut and we could hear the traffic wizzing past on the Highway, just behind this area.

An awful lot of these buildings are empty and will probably stay that way, now that Earthquake regulations are set so high.

 

 

I think this town is a "missed opportunity". Fill the place up with Artisans to compliment the Temuka Pottery.

I didn't get a photo of the Temuka pottery Shop as I was a bit disappointed. Its just a retail shop with a café attached. I thought the working Pottery would be close by and to be seen. But No, :(
